A Night Out

Session #3 of 2020 Feb 15th

Tonight was a rare event; a night out together without the kids. My in-laws offered to watch the children so we headed out for a much needed night. My partner in life, Tiffany, isn’t an expert Video Poker player but she does okay for the amount of hours that she has played the game. Her and I started playing in 2003 at the Chumash casino near Santa Barbara, CA and since that time she’s played the game probably 75 hours or so at a fairly slow pace. Over the course of that time she has hit 2 natural Royal Flushes while I have played two or three orders of magnitude more than she has and have only had 5 Royal Flushes over that same 17 years.

When I play with anyone it always has an effect on my approach. Rather than being laser focused and business minded about playing it tends to be more loose and I will play as low as quarters and as high as I can without making THEM uncomfortable. So, we get there and casino hop for a bit only playing VP while she mostly plays VP.

I can’t recall all the details at this point since I am writing this post many months later but I do know that I had 8 jackpots on the night with a bunch of $1,250’s on Triple Double Bonus until I hit 4 deuces with an Ace kicker only holding a single Ace for $10,000 to which I think I may have clapped my hands so hard it hurt after. After a bit of commotion (this is a small casino) I played at the machine to the right while waiting for my Jackpot and proceeded to hit five of a kind Aces for another $2,000.

When the dust settled and we left we left up $9,100 on the night. A very good night :-)
